Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Selects Saint Louis-Based Company to Provide Communications Assistance for Rapid Security Response
ST. LOUIS -- December 1, 2005 -- Convergence Communications, the leading provider of highly customizable collaborative software solutions to law enforcement as well as federal and commercial entities, announced today the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has selected its E-Sponder(SM) collaboration solution to provide real-time collaboration among the groups working to secure the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Football Championship Game to be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at ALLTEL Stadium, Jacksonville, Fla.
The E-Sponder solution was developed with national security in mind to create multi-agency collaboration and will provide situational awareness before, during, and after the game. The E-Sponder solution, a real-time communications and collaboration portal previously utilized by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office during Super Bowl XXXIX, is based on Microsoft (R) Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 technologies.
"We're pleased to join with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office once again to create the security communications for another high-profile sporting event," said Convergence Communications President and CEO, Robert Wolf. "After working with the Jacksonville team on the 2005 Super Bowl also held at ALLTEL Stadium, I am confident that our partnership will guarantee a safe and fun event for the fans and players on Saturday."
"After our earlier successes with E-Sponder during the planning and execution of Super Bowl XXXIX, we chose Convergence as our collaboration portal partner for situations going forward. The ACC Championship Game and all future special events and emergencies will be run using NIMS and the excellent E-Sponder platform that served us so well in the crucible of the Super Bowl" says Lt. Randy Russell, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The solution has also been used by security groups involved in the St. Louis 2004 US Presidential Debate as well as the 2004 St. Louis Major League Baseball World Series.
The 2005 game will be nationally televised from ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville Fla. at 8 p.m. EST.
